Run together, help together: We have joined forces with the KinderHerz Foundation to achieve even more with the mega marches. By turning your 100/24 or 50/12 mega march into a charity mega march, you are actively contributing to improving the quality of life of children with heart disease.
So go ahead: get involved and collect donations! Just 89 euros can make a big difference - for example, it finances an hour of research into the development of an artificial heart chamber made from living tissue. As a thank you for your efforts, an exclusive patch awaits you!
Every year, around 8,700 children are born in Germany with a congenital heart defect. Behind each of these numbers lies a very personal fate: a diagnosis - often from one moment to the next - changes the life perspective of those affected and their relatives.
The KinderHerz Foundation is committed to supporting research and development, diagnostics, therapy and prevention so that every child with a heart condition in Germany has the best possible prospects. All children with a heart condition should have the same opportunities to start life as their healthy friends. In addition, the foundation works with committed partners to ensure that the knowledge acquired about the best possible treatment is exchanged in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
This is the KinderHerz Foundation
The KinderHerz Foundation is currently funding more than 30 innovative research projects relating to the treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects and the improvement of emergency medicine for children with heart disease.
An impressive example of the foundation's vision is the pioneering Fontan Tunnel project: Researchers from Aachen and Hamburg are developing an artificial heart chamber made of living muscle cells to help children with half a heart. One of the young patients is Kian, whose story you can learn more about in the video embedded below. To ensure that Kian and other children with heart problems receive the best possible and fastest treatment in an emergency, the KinderHerz Foundation promotes the emergency medical networking of regional clinics in Baden-Württemberg, among other places.
With these and many other projects, the KinderHerz Foundation supports young patients in difficult times and works every day to ensure that they have a happy and carefree future.
